Airvana to Showcase Live Multicast, Voice Over IP (VoIP), and Quality of Service (QoS) Over 1xEV-DO at CTIA Wireless 2005

New Orleans, March 14, 2005 —  Airvana, Inc. (www.airvananet.com), a leading provider of All-IP, third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1xEV-DO infrastructure, is providing an opportunity to experience the future of 1xEV-DO with live demonstrations of 1xEV-DO Multicast and 1xEV-DO Rev A capabilities including, VoIP and QoS at Airvana's booth (#953) at the CTIA Wireless 2005 show on March 14-16, 2005 in New Orleans.

These demonstrations will highlight how service providers can deliver new revenue bearing IP services to consumers and mobile professionals over Airvana's 100 percent IP-Enabled infrastructure. The demonstrations include:

"These demonstrations provide a glimpse of the future of mobile broadband," says Randy Battat, CEO of Airvana. "Voice, data, and video will come together over high-speed, IP-based networks."

Service providers are deploying CDMA2000 1xEV-DO worldwide as a high-speed mobile data service for cell phones, PDAs and laptops. It is flexible enough to support mobile multimedia applications or act as a low cost, fixed wireless broadband data service. 1xEV-DO can be deployed very inexpensively, either by upgrading an existing base station with a channel card or by overlaying the existing network with low cost CDMA2000 1xEV-DO base stations. With an overlay solution, CDMA, TDMA, GSM and new "Greenfield" operators can all enjoy the revenue opportunities of 1xEV-DO.
