Rapid Deployment Secure Communications
The DBX-076 is the perfect solution for secure rapid deployment communications.  The DBX-076 can be used in conjunction with 3G terminals and NATO approved secure encryption devices or any of the upcoming secure UMTS terminals in development.  The DBX-076 can be used in stand alone mode or combined with a satellite uplink using either commercial IP or circuit-based solutions or military satellite systems.  The IN-c architecture means that even if the satellite link is broken the local calling group is still functional.

Staff Home Calling
Staff morale is a key issue to fighting force effectiveness.  The DBX-076 can be used as a cost-effective home calling solution, using commercial broadband satellite as the backhaul medium.  Even using commercial handsets, UMTS offers significant extra security over currently available GSM and other solutions for home calling.

Micro Sensor Base Station
UMTS is ideally suited to use in micro sensors and remote camera applications.  It offers significantly better receive sensitivity than almost any other digital communications system and the mass market penetration means that core devices and silicon are becoming very inexpensive and extremely power efficient.  Whether it is an IR camera or a micro UAV or remote vibration sensors, the combination of UMTS sensors and the DBX-076 is a powerful one.  Using the satellite uplink also means the observer could be on a different continent.
