Airvana’s radio access products are IP-based and and are standards-compliant. The IP-RN Series consists of a combination of IP-RN 8000 base stations, IP-RNC 8500 radio network controllers (RNCs), and the AirVista network management system. These three elements are designed to work in conjunction with each other.

Airvana’s Flat-Architecture Base Station will combine base station, RNC, and packet data serving node functionality into a single network element. This flat architecture will reduce the number of network elements required to build an EV-DO network, making the network more reliable, more flexible, easier to engineer and deploy, and less costly to operate. The flat architecture base station can be connected directly to the Internet and is intended for use initially in enterprise, campus, hot spot, and public safety deployments.
